Our story begins in 1952, with a wedding that brought the
Shaddix and Lewis family names together.

The young couple both grew up in small towns (Funston,
GA and Sylvania, GA) and were married in Moultire, GA.
In 1932, the year both were born, their parents were
struggling with the Great Depression, picking fruit and
sharecropping to make ends meet.

Growing up in rural Georgia, they both learned how to plow,
plant and pick, ride a horse, how to milk a cow, gather eggs
and churn butter - because it had to be done. Unlike their
parents, they both graduated from high school.

66 years have passed. Today, they have 2 children, 4
grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. It's a rich story,
and it started with the people shown below.
